Call Before You Dig
Missouri law requires that any person making or beginning any excavation must notify Missouri 811 at least three, but not more than ten working days prior to beginning excavation, except in the case of any emergency.

Information required to place a locate:
- Address of where you plan to dig.
- The type of work you will be doing.
- The equipment you will be using.
Based on the address of the dig site, the affected utility companies will send a locator to mark the approximate location of their underground utilities. The utilities will notify the requester if no facilities are in the digging area.
After confirming utility response, the requester can then proceed with excavation, avoiding damage to underground utilities.
