Putnam County is located in the north central portion of Missouri, bordering the Iowa line.  Our Agriculture is primarily beef cattle and cash grain with some hogs, dairy cattle, and forestry products included a well.

LAND & TOPOGRAPHY     Putnam County has a land area of 333,000 acres. The land is rolling with some creek bottoms as well.  The west end of the county is more gently rolling with the steeper hills in the eastern portion.   Our soils are mostly clay based with some hardpans underneath.  The soil supports good grass production and average crop yields.Our soils are low in phosphorus and medium to acid.  A printed soil survey is available for the county.  If you would like more information on Putnam County's Agriculture, CLICK HERE
